AMIT GUPTA
Amit Gupta is an executive management leader and visionary with 35 years of experience in spearheading high profit goals, organic business growth and expansion, strategic acquisitions and integration, and process re-engineering in dynamic and changing international and domestic markets. In his long career, he has worked in the roles of Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operations Officer, Business Head, Business Development Head, and Profit-Center and Operations Head in both startup and growth organizations in groups like Tata Motors, Shriram Group,,Birlas and Wimco etc.
Amit moved to the Education industry in 1999 and his latest assignment was as Executive Director and CEO of S Chand Group in India for last one decade

Amit is affiliated with many prestigious organizations that enable him to share his expertise and influence progress and policy on a national scale. He is a member of the Standing & Management Committee of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presently chairs the Education Committee and in the past has chaired the International Affairs Committee.

Amit not only has an unmatched understanding of skill requirements in multiple industries but also the unique insight into skill standard requirements, industry-academia interface and the required resources. His front line association with schools and universities and also partnerships with international educational providers enables him with a vast network in the education sector from a global perspective. Amit is presently leading the FICCI Task force for setting up Education Sector Skill council by Ministry of Skills and Entrepreneurship.

Amit was a member of the task-force set up by the Planning Commission and the Ministry of Human Resource Development for public-private partnership for secondary and higher education under the 12th Five Year Plan. He is also a member of the national School Education Committee at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and is on the Management Committee of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of India.

Amit worked very closely with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for their foray into the development of an international curriculum adapted for students studying in Indian schools outside of India. He also collaborated with CBSE on the formulation of professional development and leadership programs for teachers, resulting in the attainment of the largest teacher training practice as an independent provider. In the broader landscape of the education and training industry, Amit has played an active ongoing role as a visionary and thought leader who has addressed esteemed gatherings at notable platforms such the World Education Forum, Digital India Conference, TIE events and various investment forums for education both in India and abroad, year after year. He is also the co-founder and co-chair of the Indian Education Congress and Indian Education Awards.

Amit has evolved and implemented many first-time initiatives in the education and training sphere internationally in cooperation with ministries, corporates and international organizations such as NMEICT in India and USAID, GTZ, IFC and NAED overseas. He has been a Master Trainer for the Business Edge programs of IFC for SME & Entrepreneurship Development and has designed and implemented a special program with them aimed at ICT for young professionals and entrepreneurs.

Amit was awarded the Education Entrepreneur Award by Entrepreneur India and State Bank of India in 2013. Under his leadership, the S. Chand Group bagged nine national and three international awards. The vocational training program developed by Amit with Microsoft and Government of Egypt was showcased in the first World IT Summit in Geneva in 2003 and company under his leadership was awarded as Best Microsoft Partner in Middle East, Afica and Eastern Europe. A higher management head with unique expertise in strategizing and forming joint ventures, technology transfers, successfully setting up new companies and leading teams of international and Indian managers with cross functional expertise, Amit has led multifaceted businesses to new dimensions with a global approach

Widely travelled around the world, he brings the important knowledge of corporate best practices in multiple domains as well as rich experience in the fields of skill development, digital learning and technology in the context of skill requirements in the 21st century education. Amit has worked as a team leader and in teams with professionals and partners from various other countries such as Japan, Sweden, US, UK, Ireland, Germany, Bulgaria, China, Egypt and the Middle East fostering in him the unmatched capability and sensitivity to manage and deliver in trans-national frameworks.
